Changes in Firearm Homicide and Suicide Rates - United States, 2019-2020
The majority of suicides (53%) involved a firearm in 2020. From 2019 to 2020, the overall firearm suicide rate remained unchanged, however the rate did increase among specific populations. For example, the firearm-involved suicide rates increased for American Indian or Alaska Native males aged 10-44 years old.
