Preliminary Opioid Overdose Surveillance County Level Tables, 2019 2019

These data describe fatal (mortality) and nonfatal (morbidity) opioid-involved overdoses which occurred in Georgia during 2019, including those involving prescription opioids and illicit opioids, such as heroin, fentanyl, and fentanyl analogs. Opioid overdose data were analyzed by the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) Epidemiology Program, Drug Surveillance Unit, using Georgia hospital discharge inpatient and emergency department (ED) visit data, and DPH Vital Records death data.
